It's Friday, and that means new updates from Invent. This week we shipped two updates: the platform opens up to every builder, and your conversations now show who has read what.
We love hearing from business owners and agencies about how they keep scaling their businesses with Invent, and both of this week's updates serve that directly: build Invent into your own products, and read every conversation with the clarity of a modern messaging app.
The Highlights
✦ API access, now on every plan
API access is now available on every plan, including the free Pay As You Go tier. Connect your assistant to your own backend, your AI harness, or any product you are building, and run it wherever your customers already are.
A few things you can build:
- Your own AI agent for clients: drop a fully grounded Invent assistant into a client's portal or dashboard, running as part of their product.
- Embed it in your app: wire the assistant into your website, your software, or an internal tool through your own backend.
- Connect it to your stack: trigger conversations, pull data, and pipe Invent into the workflows and AI harness you already run.
It is the same assistant you build in Invent, grounded in the same knowledge and memory, now reachable from anywhere you write code. Full reference and getting-started guides live in the API docs.

✦ Read receipts: Delivered and Seen
Conversations now show delivery and read status in the Inbox. A double check mark shows a message delivered and then seen, and the contact's avatar appears on the last message they have read, the "seen up to here" pattern you know from Messenger and WhatsApp.

Read receipts in action: a double check marks delivered and seen, with a "Seen by" note on the last message the contact read.
Support depends on the channel:
- WhatsApp and Messenger: delivered and seen.
- Instagram: seen.
- Web Chat Widget: seen, shown to your team in the Inbox (not to the visitor).

Delivered and Seen support by channel.
On every other channel, status follows that platform's native delivery and read behavior.
This takes the guesswork out of every thread. You can see whether a quote was opened before you follow up, and whether a customer has caught the answer you just sent.
Why it matters
These two updates pull in the same direction: more control over where Invent runs and more clarity on every conversation. API access means the assistant you built is no longer boxed into one place. It can live in your app, your clients' portals, and the systems you already run. Read receipts bring the everyday signals people expect from messaging, so your team always knows whether a message landed and whether it was read. You decide where the assistant works, and you can see how every conversation is moving.
