#028: Chat Widget v2 & WhatsApp Control
Blog/Changelog/#028: Chat Widget v2 & WhatsApp Control

July 17, 2026

TL;DR

  • Chat Widget v2: a teaser mode with quick-reply buttons, a channels list so visitors reach you their way, and full personalization.
  • Knowledge, cleaner to manage: new Grid view and a "Selected only" filter per Assistant.
  • WhatsApp control: account overview, profile, phone numbers, templates, and QR codes, all inside Invent.
  • Faster onboarding: build, test end-to-end with a QR code per channel, and grab your referral link on the way.

It's Friday, and that means fresh updates from Invent. This week's batch is all about turning more visitors into conversations, and more conversations into customers.

Chat Widget v2

We rebuilt the website chat widget so it belongs on your page and helps you turn more visitors into conversations. Three moves in one release.

Teaser mode. A proactive greeting bubble with quick-reply buttons like Pricing, Services, or Support, so visitors ask the right question in one tap. You control the pace too: which devices see it, how long to wait before it appears, how often it repeats, and a reset switch to bring back visitors who dismissed it.

The Invent Chat Widget in teaser mode on a soft brand mesh background: an "Invent Support / 👋 Ask us anything. We're here to help." greeting card above three quick-reply chips ("Show me pricing", "Book a demo call", "Support") and a black bubble button with a sparkle icon.

Teaser mode with quick-reply chips: visitors engage before they even click.

Channels list. Let visitors pick their preferred way to reach you (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, Phone, Email, Website) or chat with your Assistant. One widget, every channel.

The Invent Chat Widget channels-list view on a soft brand mesh background: seven channel chips stacked vertically (Phone, WhatsApp, Email, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, Website) next to a black round close button.

Channels list: one widget, every channel. Visitors reach you their way.

Personalize. Custom accent color (any hex), theme (auto / light / dark), position, and bubble button color, so the widget belongs on your page instead of feeling like an add-on.

A composite view of the Invent Chat Widget v2 on a soft brand mesh background: on the left, the color picker with a custom pink accent color at #E14796; on the right, a live chat preview with Chat / Teaser / Channels tabs, an "Assistant" message ("Hello Jorge! How can I help you today?") and a matching pink bubble button.

Pick any accent color and the bubble, tabs, and preview update to match.

A widget that belongs on your page is a widget people actually engage with.

Knowledge, cleaner to manage

We polished the Knowledge section so you can see exactly what each Assistant is working with. A new Grid view sits alongside the classic list view. A "Selected only" filter on each Assistant shows just the documents it is actually using. And the org-level dashboard surfaces total contents, chunks, size, and status right at the top.

Less clicking, more clarity.

Two Invent Knowledge screens shown on a soft brand mesh background: on the left, the list view with the "Selected only" filter active showing two checked PDFs (pdf-specials2026.pdf, pdf-policy.pdf); on the right, the Grid view with Websites (cacaodemar.com, gallery.cacaodemar.com) and Files (pdf-policy.pdf, pdf-terms.pdf) as tiles, each with status and last-updated info.

The Knowledge section: new Grid view alongside the classic list, and a "Selected only" filter that shows just the docs each Assistant is actually using.

WhatsApp control, without Meta Manager

Managing your WhatsApp Business Account used to mean bouncing between Meta Manager tabs, waiting on Meta's UI, and hoping nothing broke. Now, most of it lives inside Invent.

The Invent sidebar for the Cacao de Mar org showing the WhatsApp channel expanded, with sub-sections for Overview, Profile (selected), Phone numbers, Templates, QR codes, and Catalog (Soon), on a soft brand mesh background.

The WhatsApp channel in Invent now has its own sub-navigation, with everything you used to manage in Meta Manager just one click away.

  • Overview: account health, business verification, messaging limits, and quality rating in one page.
  • Profile: update avatar, business name, description, category, and websites with a live WhatsApp preview on the right as you type.
  • Phone numbers: every number with its quality rating, messaging limit, and PIN status in one row. Add new numbers (native flow coming soon, redirects to Meta for now).
  • Templates: manage message templates from Invent (shipped earlier, polished this week).
  • QR codes: generate WhatsApp QR codes natively so your customers scan and land straight in a real conversation.

Catalog is coming soon. If you have ever wrestled with Meta Manager, this is the update for you.

The Invent WhatsApp Overview page for the Cacao de Mar org on a soft brand mesh background, showing Account health (Blocked with details on the phone number, WhatsApp account payment method, and Business verification), Business verification status (Pending submission, with a Start verification link), Messaging limit (Current: 250 / 24h across the 50 / 2K / 10K / 100K / unlimited scale), and Quality rating (Current: Green across phone numbers).

The WhatsApp Overview page: account health, verification status, messaging limit, and quality rating for the whole account in one screen.

On white-label setups (and for agencies running multiple sub-orgs): you can now enable or disable the Channels module (WhatsApp and every other channel in it) per sub-organization. If a client does not use WhatsApp, hide the whole section from their view. One less thing to explain to each account.

A close-up of the Modules settings on a soft brand mesh background: an Inbox toggle at the top, then a grouped card with Analytics, Assistants, Knowledge, Broadcasts, Channels (highlighted with a pink outline, toggled on), Workflows, Audience, and Tables, followed by a blue Save changes button at the bottom right.

Modules settings: turn the Channels module (where WhatsApp lives) on or off per sub-organization, so each client only sees what they use.

The onboarding flow is now faster: pick a template, customize, add knowledge, connect channels, and test end-to-end with a QR code for each channel (Web chat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack). Scan with your phone, say hello, and see your Assistant reply in seconds. What ships is what you tested.

While you are here, grab your referral link at Settings → Referrals. When you introduce a friend to Invent, they get $5 in credits when they sign up, and you get $5 when they make their first payment. Grow together.

Why it matters

Every update in this batch reinforces the same throughline: turn more visitors into conversations, and more conversations into customers. A widget that belongs on your site. Knowledge you can actually verify per Assistant. WhatsApp without tab-switching. And onboarding you can test before you launch.
