#15: Link Buttons, File Preview & a New Files Tab
Blog/Changelog/#15: Link Buttons, File Preview & a New Files Tab

Today we dropped a fresh set of user experience improvements. Here's everything that's new:

In-chats file preview

You can now preview images, videos, audio files, and PDFs directly inside Invent, no more switching tabs or leaving the platform mid-conversation.

• View images, audio, video, and PDFs in a clean, responsive modal overlay
• Access shared or received files instantly with one click
• Stay in your workflow without interruption

Screenshot of an audio file preview within the Invent chat interface. The file, named “file_example_MP3_700KB.mp3,” is shown in a popup with an audio player bar, file details (MP3 Audio, 716 KB), a play button, volume control, and an “Open” link, all against a dark background with chat messages visible in the background.

Audio file preview in Invent chats: Users can instantly play and review audio attachments directly within the conversation window.

Screenshot of a PDF document preview within the Invent platform. The preview window displays a document titled “pdf_digitalizado.pdf,” showing a single page of repetitive test text: “This is a sample document to test the PDF Image+Text OCR Engine.” A sidebar on the left shows the page thumbnail, and the top bar provides PDF controls like zoom, download, print, and an “Open” link.

PDF file preview in Invent chats: Instantly view, scroll, and interact with PDF documents—no need to download external files.

A file preview window in Invent displays the image "zydeer-logo.png" (PNG, 27 KB). The logo is centered in the preview, featuring the word "zydeer" in bold, modern white font on a solid black background. File details appear at the top with options to open the file externally.

Instant file preview in Invent: View logos, documents, and media right inside the chat interface for streamlined collaboration and quick access.

Attach files from the Files tab & Files section

Sharing files in your AI conversations just got faster. Attach documents directly to each conversation and see the whole list under the Files tab.

• Click the Attach icon or drag and drop files straight from the Files section
• One-click attachment for faster, more efficient file sharing
• Browse previously uploaded files for quick reuse across conversations

Screenshot of a user profile’s “Files” tab in Invent. The panel shows an avatar with initials “AG” for Ana G, their status (“last seen 12h ago”), and three tabs: Contact, Files (selected, showing 4), and Activity. Below is a file upload box and a list of recently exchanged files: a Word document, a CSV file, a PDF, and a PNG image, each with size and timestamp.

Managing shared files in Invent: Quickly view, upload, and access all documents exchanged with a contact within the Files tab.

Contact name displayed in messages

Every message bubble now shows the sender's contact name, making your chat history easier to read, follow, and reference at a glance.

Screenshot of an Invent chat conversation. The contact name “Ana G” appears at the top for context. The chat displays the user’s message “Test product info 🛍️✓” and a bot response from “Invent Demo” listing example questions about a product catalog, such as price, product types, and cheapest items, with friendly emojis.

Enhanced conversation view in Invent: Displaying contact names at the top of chat threads makes customer interactions more intuitive and user-friendly.

Your Invent AI assistant can now present links as native clickable buttons, across Invent's web chat and connected messaging apps including WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Telegram.

Use this to surface high-intent pages without friction:
• Payment and checkout links
• Pricing pages
• Contact or booking forms
• Any URL your users need instant access to

Screenshot of a WhatsApp chat where a user asks, “Pricing link?” The response contains a clickable button labeled “Pricing Page” with an external link icon, presented beneath the message “Pricing Link:”, making the URL easy to access.

WhatsApp integration in Invent: Share pricing or resource links as smart, clickable buttons for easy access and improved customer interactions.

Screenshot of a web chat widget with a bubble conversation. The user asks, “Menu options?” The assistant displays a main menu with choices: Services, Contact Us (selected, highlighted with a checkmark and blue border), and FAQ. Below, a clickable “Contact Us Selected” button appears inside the chat bubble, making the action clear and interactive.

Web chat widget in Invent: Actionable links and menu options appear as interactive buttons within chat bubbles, making navigation and engagement seamless for users.

Mobile screenshot of Invent’s pricing page viewed inside a WhatsApp in-app browser. The page features a dark theme, clear “Pricing” heading, and options for “Pay As You Go” and “Business” plans. The selected “Pay As You Go” section highlights $0/month pricing, a white “Subscribe” button, and a note about 100 free credits for new users.

Mobile-friendly pricing in Invent: Users accessing links from WhatsApp or web widgets see transparent pricing and easy subscription options optimized for any device.

Pro tip: Instruct your assistant to always present specific links as buttons. For example: "Always show the pricing page as a button." This works across all connected channels.
