Private chats are designed for temporary use

Invent's private chats are thoughtfully designed to meet the evolving privacy and security expectations of today’s users.

On Invent, private chats will automatically delete after 24 hours, removing any temporarily stored data from our servers. These chats are not visible in your chat history.

  • Collaboration: By default, private chats are personal spaces. If you want to collaborate, you can choose to share your chat. Collaboration is possible only with those you share your chat link with.
  • Visibility and responsibility: Once you share your chat, you and your collaborators are responsible for further sharing or use. After 24 hours, the chat and its content will be deleted from our system.
A dark interface from Invent with the message, “Evening, Anonymous. Time to unwind!” is displayed above a chat input box labeled “Ask me anything…” and “Research.” A note below states, “Private chat deletes after 24 hours. Won’t save to history.”
Why Use Private Chats?

Private chats are created for situations where you need:

  • Temporary discussions: When you want a short-term, one-off conversation, nothing permanent.
  • Personal space: For drafting ideas, working through problems, or asking questions you don’t want to keep in your main chat history.
  • Selective collaboration: If you want to involve others, you can share your chat for just as long as it’s needed; the chat disappears after 24 hours.
  • No lasting record: Private chats are not stored in your chat history and are automatically deleted after 24 hours, removing any temporary data from our servers.

This aligns with recent research showing that users feel more secure and are more satisfied when ownership, privacy, and the ability to delete data are in their hands.

Remember: If you share your private chat link publicly (such as in a forum or on social media), search engines like Google may index it, making your content accessible to anyone online. Only share with trusted peers, and avoid sharing sensitive information.
